About Me

www.savetibet.org

At ICT, we fundamentally believe that there must be a political solution based on direct dialogue between the Dalai Lama and his representatives and the People's Republic of China. Just as leaders from virtually all the protracted struggles on this planet have met to talk about their differences, so too the Chinese leaders can meet with the Dalai Lama. Without a negotiated solution for Tibet, China will never legitimize its role there.

Moreover, to ensure peace and stability in the region, Tibetans must feel that their rights as a people have been acknowledged and understood.

ICT has a 20-year record of achievement advancing the Tibetan cause - and the vision and leadership of the Dalai Lama - in the halls of Congress and in international forums. We strive to mobilize international goodwill in support of the Tibetan people. Our focus today is centered on working with governments to demonstrate meaningful support for Tibet, reaching out to Chinese all over the world, and monitoring conditions inside Tibet.

The International Campaign for Tibet works to promote human rights and democratic freedoms for the people of Tibet.

ICT:

>> Monitors and reports on human rights, environmental and socio economic conditions in Tibet,

>> Advocates for Tibetans imprisoned for their political or religious beliefs,

>> Works with governments to develop policies and programs to help Tibetans,

>> Secures humanitarian and development assistance for Tibetans,

>> Mobilizes individuals and the international community to take action on behalf of Tibetans, and

>> Promotes self-determination for the Tibetan people through negotiations between the Chinese government and the Dalai Lama.

The Lhasa Intermediate People's Court in the Tibet Autonomous Region sentenced two Tibetans to death on April 8 on charges relating to "starting fatal fires." These are the first official capital punishments against Tibetans in connection with the Lhasa riots on March 14, 2008, and the first known death sentences against Tibetans since 2003.

Two other Tibetans were sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve, and one other was sentenced to life imprisonment in a total of three separate cases of arson, reportedly involving the deaths of seven people, according to the state media. For more on the sentences, visit the ICT Media Center.

An appeal to the Chinese authorities was published by Václav Havel, Desmond Tutu and others last week. Tibet groups around the world are campaigning to draw attention to the lack of due process and independent observation of these death sentence trials, and are calling on their governments to urge China to re-try the defendants in fair and open trials under international standards of justice.

Please add your name in support of this appeal now. The International Tibet Support Network, a global coalition of Tibet-related non-governmental organizations, is coordinating this effort and will receive support numbers from ICT as this campaign moves forward.

Thank you for your response to this urgent campaign.

I send my humble opinions towards the Tibetan struggle and hopefully the day is not far to reach justice in such a painful incident.

Peace

Try and get to collect all
simply with your experience,
You all need
but not all you know value,
The quietness of living, the desire to have you,
you are those who try to escape,
and scream for you too.

significantly kindness,
significantly complacency,
significantly patience,
also symbolizes the love,
symbolizes the good spiritual,
between the union and the end of all evil.

So many try to remove you,
prefer to live in the unrest,
you prevent and stop others from wanting you,
when you have a whole?
When does it end there,
in the middle of us all?
Peace I ask you you never go,
why you you want,
and live in peace and fullness hope.
I do not agree that you reach only after death,
could fight for you and get you in life
That would be our greatest chance.

Peace means everything good,
fight for you without hesitation.
